RE: Is Bandwidth value bi-directional or Uni-directional?

A T1 circuit is full duplex throughout the TELCO circuit from the local
equipment (router/DSU) to the carrier. Once it hits the carrier and goes
over a frame relay or ATM circuit, the bandwidth will be determined by
the carrier. Below is an example of what most providers provide for a T1
circuit: From the local customer site the circuit is a T1 full duplex
(1.544 receive and 1.544 transmit) from the local site to the carrier's
frame relay or ATM network. Once it hits the carriers network it will
most likely be limited to a total average (rx and tx) of 1.544. This
average calculation will be made at every hop within the provider's
network. So basically with frame relay or ATM (for most providers) the
T1 will be a total of 1.544 in both directions but will a point to point
type encap. it will be 1.544 Rx and 1.544 Tx. Thanks

  Hi,

To my knowledge, the physical bandwidth value for example a T-1(1.5M)
  is the
actual bandwidth for TX and RX respectively, meaning each capacity is
  upto
  1.5M simultaneously.
  I just wanted re-confirm....

  Thanks,

  Yuki
