As far as password recover on 3Com switches as long as you have not disabled
password recovery the procedure outlined by John is excatly one that has
worked for me.
Otherwise I do not think the question is OT because it is common for
hands-on and real world working network engineers to have to handle other
products that do not come only from cisco.
