RE: Call center help

???

1,000,000 calls in a year means 2,740'ish calls per day. That's only about
11 phone calls per seat in your call center every day. Even doubling that
number seems fairly light, IMHO.

Are they really long phone calls? :)

Anyway, you're basically right though, in that you look at calls per busy
hour (erlangs) and figure out what your best number of trunks happens to be
and then determine how to provision them. You'll find that 50 separate
phone lines is not cost effective from a provider.

But the original question was about FXS ports, which would be the telephone
on a desk (assuming it's an analog phone). There are better solutions in
the IP Telephony world. And otherwise, your PBX would need to be IP capable
to talk to IP-capable FXS ports also!

I think you need to do some analysis in the beginning to determine your REAL
needs. Also, you need to do a little more work on those business needs
versus technology desires (and budgeting) to help figure out the actual
equipment to make it happen. There are many possibilities!

Subject: Re: Call center help

It all depends on the call volumes and patterns for our call centre we have
300 channels for a 250 seat call centre. However we have a very busy call
centre > 1million calls a year. However if you expect all call staff to be
busy at some point in the day you would need 50 FXS ports which is too many
you should look at E1 ISDN. Also it depends on how much time the agent
spends after each call offline doing work for us its 15 seconds for some
call centres it might be 10-15 minutes.

Kevin
