Hi All,
I agree with the comments below, I think that the first couple of attempts
is what most people need to hone their skills and perfect the lab exam. So
unless your really really GOOD! or bloody lucky, you may pass the first
time. Don't count on it though. Just go in with an open mind and expect
the worse. Use it to gain experience of how Cisco want you to take exams,
and don't be ashamed of failure. Most people take 3/4 attemps, some more,
some less. just remember if you fail :-) then do not be disheartened, do
not think you cannot do this and put it off otherwise you'll never go back.
It took me 3 years from my first attempt to the second, and I wish to hell I
had stuck with it 3 years ago!
Good luck, and hope you do well
HTH

Hi,
Yes you have 18 months from the time you took the written to
attempt the lab. There is also a 3 yr limit after which
time you would have to retake the written. You can retake
the lab multiple times until you run out of funds or your
written expires :)
As to whether to take the exam or retake the written -
really depends on how prepared yu think you are. Since you
are funding it yourself, $ is a big issue. Taking the exam
is a good preparation even if you don't pass. Retaking the
written is sort of a step backward. I would probably study
really hard between now and then and take the lab.
