Connecting a resource node (i.e. a Server) using trunk mode!

Has anybody of you connected a server to a network using trunk mode and used
multiple IP address on the server to make the traffic local for each vlan and
to avoid traffic traversing the core? How was the setup done on DNS/WINS and
did you have multiple servers per VLAN?
