If I am not mistaken there is a difference in Client-ID and hardware
address.
Hardware is the MAC address (pretty straightforward).
Client-Id can be a different beast, for Microsoft is hex $01 prepended to
the mac-address, for cisco client routers (by default) it is
cisco-MAC ADDR-Interface (ASCII)
The most failproof reservation would be by using hardware address, since
you're not always sure what client-id the client will use.

try it practically and check....
