If I understood correctly, when Cisco mention "two token bucket" it is the same as "two rate policer". Is it correct?

What does not make sense yet is that Cisco points to two documents:

- Traffic Policing (12.2(2)T document)
- Two-Rate Policer (12.2(4)T document)

The first (Traffic Policing (12.2(2)T document)) says it implements two token bucket if 'violate' action is implemented.

Per RFC, it is more clear:
rfc2698 is two rate and rfc2697 is single rate.

I understand that there is just one token on single rate (just one rate is specified) and there are two tokens on two rate (two rates are specified - CIR and PIR). Now, on "Traffic Policing (12.2(2)T document)" the doc says it implements two token, but just one rate is specified.

A single token bucket system is used when the violate-action option is not specified, and a two token bucket system is used when the violate-action option is specified.

In this example, if 'violate' action is specified, two token bucket is used, as per Cisco definition.
Router(config-pmap-c)# police bps burst-normal burst-max conform-action action exceed-action action violate-action action

Any comments?
