Hi John,

I was in the exact same situation as you - my CCNP/DP expired at about the
same time by written R&S expired. I decided to forgo going back and getting
my NP/DP and have concentrated on getting my IE. I guess one thing to
consider is your job situation. If you're looking for work, or don't know
if you'll have a job next month (and I'm not implying in any way, shape or
form about your current employment) - you may want to get your NP/DP certs
if you think you can retest them quickly. If you think you're safe at your
present job, I'd just concentrate on the IE. I go ahead and take the written
now, before the written is changed. Even if the written changes after you
pass the written - your passing score is good for the next 3 years (assuming
you take the lab in the 1st 18 months).

HTH, Sean

studying to retake that. I got overloaded and took a break.

written needs to be passed again before I can attempt the lab. I am
wondering whether I should wait for the new version of the written to come
out before I study hard for a written that will soon expire?

re-associate yourselves with and clock goes by fast! after spending a good
year studying for the LAB and failing 3 times, I realized my CCNA/ND/NP/DP
certs were all about to decertify. i had one month to pass the composite
test & needed to retake it twice.
> since passing, i felt much relief (forgot how it felt to actually pass a
cisco test!). but you will be slightly (if not largely) distracted from you
LAB studies by studying for the composite. i have yet to re-gain momentum
to start studying for the LAB again. it is true what some have posted here
that there are more NP/DP postings out there now, so don't let it
expire!!!... it's still a personal goal of mine to pass the lab tho.
