Hi Andy,
No, you're on the write track of thinking. Since backup command is
triggered by the lack of line protocol, and since LMI is the line protocol
for frame-relay - when you change what you want your router is expecting to
receive for LMI to something other than your carrier (or ISDN simulator) is
sending - backup will kick in.
