OT:Avaya /Cisco Question

Hi everyone, i was looking for a little OT help. I am connecting Avaya
Handsets to Cisco 3750 switch. I know that when you configure Voice-vlan,
cisco phones and switches use CDP to negotiate. SO in the case of Avaya,there
is no CDP, it must be configured on the handset. So do i still need
Voice-vlan command on my switch? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
