Yes, if sw1 is the root switch for vlan_100. If you can post the scenario, it will be easy to discribe.

The solution on pg. 371 is the use of spanning-tree vlan port-priority
command on both sides (both trunks).

My question is why it need to be configured on both sides. If I configure it
only on sw1, will it still work?
