Hi

Yep this is a 2620 with wic-1t connected to p2p via BT leased line. The
ntu/e is x.21 connection and I'm using ppp for encaps. BT have just
tested the line and state that its ok. Now going to start swapping out
hardware. Any other idea would be appreciated..

TIA

Subject: RE: protocol down

Are this WIC-T1 or regular serial interfaces like in the 2500's

Is the line P2P?
If yes, check clocking
One side internal one side network (line)

Unless service provider is providing clocking

If Wic-T1 V2
Check Cable length

Perform a hard loop test to check the serial interfaces (iF Wic-T1 card)

Do you see any alarms in the smartjack?

Look in the cabinet by Circuit ID

If the Service provider can loop all the way to the smartjack but they
can not see your equipment, then is probably your side.

Subject: protocol down

Hi All

I'm having a bit of a problem with a leased line between 2 sites. I
have configured the serail interface as below:

site 1
serial 0/0

ip add 192.168.12.254 255.255.255.252
encaps ppp
bandwidth 1024
no shut

site 2

serial 0/0

ip add 192.168.12.253 255.255.255.252
encaps ppp
bandwidth 1024
no shut

Yet with this config I'm getting protocol down. Just wanted to check if
I need to do anything else before I contact the service provider to test
the line? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

TIA

Mark
