How do you guys limit the Dense mode to flood packets to a group?
I was wondering if there is a way besides configuring access-group on interfaces and ip igmp join-group.
The reason I am asking is because even though there is a "ip igmp join-group" (and no one has joined the group) on the Vlanx1, the router is sending multicast packets to Vlanx1:
RA#show ip mroute 224.0.1.22
(x.x.x.142, 224.0.1.22), 00:03:03/00:00:03, flags: T
Incoming interface: ATM6/0/0.500, RPF nbr x.x.x.29, Partial-SC
Outgoing interface list:
Vlanx1, Forward/Sparse-Dense, 00:03:03/00:00:00
RA#sh ip igmp groups 224.0.1.22
IGMP Connected Group Membership
Group Address Interface Uptime Expires Last Reporter
I have seen that Cisco recommends blocking this address (because it is vulnerable to attacks)using access-group interface command.
