This is not strictly true, AFAIK.
Cisco has its own way of inverse multiplexing many B channels, that is
not multilink ppp. If you set load-threshold without multilink ppp, it
will be used. (You don't get LFI though)

As for generating traffic, what about using ttcp ? It's pretty easy to
use, and will hog your link quite fast.
