Shaping isn't the same. You are configuring an average rate of
transmission, as I understand it. Traffic in excess of the configured
peak rate gets throttled down or dropped depending on the DE bit.

Policing results in packet loss if the rate is exceeded.

Would the peanut gallery care to respond?
