RE: Put the loopback in appropriate Area or Routing Domains

Check to see if there are any requirements (BGP, tunnel, VPN, etc)
concerning connectivity between the loopback interfaces, remembering
that OSPF will always prefer intra-area routes.

For instance, you might have 2 routers, each with an interface in area 1
and area 2. The path through area 1 may be across an Ethernet LAN, and
the path through area 2 involves an ISDN interface. If the loopbacks
are placed in area 2, then traffic between the loopbacks will pass
through area 2, even though the best path is through area 1.

.....

hey guys ,
i guess the conversation is leading a different direction .... what
i meant to ask is ... the lab scenerio have not specified where( which
area ) ... so i just need to know is there any thumb rule or any logic
behind it.... cause when i glance at the answer configuration sometimes
they are in area 0 and sometimes they are not ... so i just need to
know ..
how critical is this placement of loopback IP in a particular area ...
I hope im clear this time ...
thanx everyone ..
