Put the loopback in appropriate Area or Routing Domains .....

hi all ,
    
     Many a times in ospf configurations it is written
" Put the loopback in the appropriate area " ... im a
bit confused with it ... as i dont understand as to on
what criteria and what scenario should i consider
while taking that decision ....
    Same is the case when there are various routing
domain in the router and we have to put the loopback
in the " APPROPRIATE " domain ...
    Can anybody guide me ... how to select this so
called APPROPRIATE thing .????
