I feel the same way. It was my first time going, but not my last. I
attended 9 breakout sessions, but missed out on the Techtorials. The
party at the Superdome was awesome. It goes a long way in explaining
the tired and hung-over looks on people's faces on Friday. I spent
several hours talking with the various vendors there, and the Cisco
people as well about various technologies. Got pretty good info from
them all. It was money well spent. As a side note, I got on an
elevator mistakenly Tuesday morning going up rather than down at the
Hilton. The two people that got on at the top floor were none other
than John Chambers and another Cisco exec. Had a nice little chat with
him. Too bad I didn't have a camera with me!

Subject: NETWORKERS and 2004

Hello,
I just wanted to give everyone an update on the Networkers 2004
Conference, for all of those that couldnt attend. First of all, I would
like to say I have been to Microsoft, Citrix and Novell conferences.
This is by far the best technical conference I have ever been to.
Although my intent was to go their to get a job. Although I still dont
have a job, I have come back with many new friends that I made their.
The technical sessions were incredible, but it was a hit or miss
depending on which ones you signed up for. There were some hands on
sessions as well as powerpoint. Each session lasted for 2 hours. I ended
up most of my time with the vendors, but was able to attend a few
sessions. They also had a CCIE power session, for all of those studying.
I took and failed my Security written, I do plan on taking again soon,
in the near future. The convention center was very big, 3 floors with
big rooms for the presentations as well as smaller rooms for the
sessions. John Chambers ga!
ve an incredible speech, and I just happened to get a front row seat,
because I got up very early, well worth the effort. And the best part of
the conference was in the superdome, with funny looking hats, great
food, great drinks, music, games and great people. If anyone ever has a
chance to go in the future, and your company does not send you, I
encourage to spend the extra money, its well worth it, there were many
CCIE's there, also many training companies there as well to help you for
your exam. I will be home tommorrow and will try and help you all as
much as I can.

Sincerely,
John Matijevic, CCIE #13254
