I heard of CDP being a problem for cabletron,
might be worth turning it off

Subject: OT: Cabletron to Cisco migration

Quick question, I'm indirectly involved in a Cabletron to Cisco
migration. I got to watch as a large Cabletron network melted down
today. They were trying to add two 6509's and some 3550's to a flat
Cabletron network running securefast. The thing is that the Cisco layer
two stuff had plan vanilla configs. Flat network migration to flat
network. Plan is to do the hard work later on readdressing the network.

Anyone have any similar experiences? I was told that all the spanning
tree issues had be addressed, thought the way whole segments we're
dropping off that's the first thing I thought.

Checked CCO and google, only HSRP showed up as a known problem. Didn't
seem to be the case here.
