Karim,
You can use cost to prefer one peer over another:
dlsw remote-peer <R2> cost 1
dlsw remote-peer <R3> cost 2
By default, even with costs assigned to the peers, DLSw will decide which peer to use once the first packet is received. Similar to SRB when the router makes its decision on which peer to use there's only one candidate, so the first peer that responds will be used -- even if that is the higher-cost peer.
To have DLSw wait one second so that it can evaluate all potential peers before deciding, use the following command:
dlsw timer explorer-wait-time 1

Subject: DLSw backup without backup peer ??
Hi all,
Wanted to ask a question regarding DLSw backup. Having two DLSw peers
configured on your local router (R1), R1 has two remote peers (R2& R3). Asked
to have one of the remote peers (R2) to be configured to force R1 to use it as
the main peer and failover to the other peer (R3) in case of failure.
How could this be solved ?????
I believe it could have been solved by using backup peers if it was permitted
to add the config. on R1.
Thanks for your help,
Karim.
