Yash, there are a couple of things I would recommend to you.
1. If you do not own the lab gear to do certain things you are not
comfortable with, like ATM,
I would rent racktime from one of the many online providers. IPExpert,
Internetwork Expert, etc.
and at least get comfortable with these technologies. Particularly ATM.
It is one of the
technologies you can almost guarantee to see in the lab, just as frame
relay.
2. I would spend a lot more time knowing the doc CD!! It will definitely
come in handy
when you are taking the lab.
3. Be very comfortable with the core routing and switching protocols!!
I don't think any one this list who has passed the lab can honestly say they
knew evrything
there is to know to pass the lab going in. I know for myself, that is just
not possible. But I
did know how to find just about anthing on the Doc CD.
Just my opinion.
Good Luck

Subject: Somewhat OT: CCIE lab temparament
Hi all,
I have a question for the experienced people who have
taken the labs. (sorry, but iam panicking)
I am thinking that no matter what i do, there would be
questions/problems in the lab that i would not know
how to tackle. Technologies that i would not be very
conversant.
For instance, i have not got an opportunity to work on
ATM, PPOA, PPOE and i dont seem to find the right docs
on the CCO too...
what is the best way to handle things you are not sure
off (or not good at?) run to the doc CD and look for
config guides? try to accomplish it with whatever you
know of it? or hope that you can make up 80% by doing
everything else perfectly? (like i said, iam
panicking)
or perhaps, one cannot hope to get the covetted number
unless one knows everything there is to know?
Regards,
Yash
