I believe you have missed "ip ospf priority 0" on the spokes,

Subject: OSPF DR process-IElab9 task 5.2

Hello All,

The task specifies that we should ensure that the router is ALWAYS elected
the DR for a segment.

The solution given in IE lab 9 task 5.2 is just hard coding the router-ids,
which will make the specified router the DR because of its higher router-id.

But what happens when for some reason this router reloads or something,
since ospf DR process is non-preemptive, some other router will take the
role of DR. So to correctly fulfill this requirement shouldn't we configure
all other routers with ospf prio 0?? As ONLY then we can ensure that the
router is ALWAYS the DR when it comes back up. Well the redundancy will be
lost, but I always hear- that in the exam we should do what we are TOLD and
not bother about optimal routing.

OR am I reading TOO Much into the Question?

Please comment.

Thanks,

Mohit.
