.Yup, went down to San Jose yesterday and got my a$$ beat again. After months
of studying all the things I did wrong the 1st time through, I was presented
with an exam about as far removed from the last exam as fate would
allow.*Many* of the topics I expected to see simply were not there, having
been replaced with subjects that I stupidly failed to prepare for.I say
stupidly since ignorance is no excuse. However as I may be a LOSER today, I
will never be a quitter.I am now more determined than ever to beat that
@#%&*! Exam.Seriously, if I *had* passed it would've been a travesty.I was
not prepared and did not deserve to pass.If anyone out there has any
suggestions on how to stay FOCUSED while studying for this thing, I would be
very appreciative.I have access to everything the lab could have, except for
ATM (no biggie there), materials from Doyle to Halabi, from IPExpert to
Internetwork Expert, etc., etc., ad nauseum.Time has not been an issue
either.I think my biggest problem is that I'd rather be playing one of my
sixteen guitars than configuring routers. While I do find network engineering
challenging and, sometimes, fun(?!), I can't honestly say it's *not* my
"hobby".Again, any suggestions for improving study habits or staying focused
would be appreciated.Thanks.
