I am trying to discover the advantages and disadvantages of using a CSS
internal to the 6500 or one of the external CSS devices. Without having a lot
of experience with either and based on my reading, this is what I have come up
with so far. Soes anyone have any additional insight they can offer on the
subject?
Internal might be better because:
1) Unlike an external device that would only have a 10/100/1000 connection,
the internal card would have the full speed of the backplane.
2) External models have a fixed port configuration. Internal Models can use
any and every port in the catalyst switch.
3) Can utilize all of the QoS services of the Catalyst IOS
4) The Catalyst blade has higher performance overall then an external CSS
