I finally get to write one of these emails.
It was a long and difficult 2 years, but I finally passed my lab exam on
Friday 5/7. I prepared using the standard methods and tools. A rack at
work, all the books that have been listed a hundred times on this board
and two different workbooks. Plus many, many hours on that rack.
I want to thank all the people on this list for all the advice and help
I received during this process. It is an invaluable tool I know
contributed towards this achievement.
I want to thank NetMasterClass. Indy, Val and everybody else there were
great to me. The customer assistance is top notch. Their prep labs and
workbook were what got me over the top.
I want to thank my brother Rolando. He put me in my place when I
thought I was ready and encouraged me when I thought I would never be.
Because of him I am a little smarter today.
The biggest thanks go to my wife, Graciela. Without her I would not
have been able to do this. She managed to run the house, take care of
our two little ones and all those other things wives do, while I spent
all my free time studying. The love, support and patience she showed me
were invaluable.
One KEY thing that helped me pass was taking my time during the exam.
Taking my time and forcing myself to think about every line of code I
configured (and didn't configure) were the differences between this
attempt and previous others where I was not successful. This is doable.
Just stay after it!
One last thing and I'm not sure if this matters, but I didn't eat the
lunch that day. I just had some Mountain Dew. It looked really good,
but who the hell knows what's in that stuff. One less obstacle, I say.
The hardest part is over, but this process will never be truly over. We
have to re-certify in two years.
Thanks,
