Hi Yasser,

It means that the mapping agent has to be connected through an IP multicast
enabled path (pim dense, pim sparse-dense, autorp listener, etc...) to all
routers, in other words that all routers should get the discovery packets,
but they can be several hops away from the mapping agent.

Cheers,
Ato.

Subject: Multicast: Auto-RP considerations

Hello,

In CCIE Practical Studies II it says:

" In Frame Relay environment using auto-RP, you must address a few
considerations. All candidate RPs must have a map statement or otherwise
connected to the mapping agent. All mapping agents must connect to all
multicast routers."

What does the author means by his last statmenet " All mapping agents must
connect to all multicast routers " ?

Does it mean physically connected or connecting routing wise ?

Appreciate of somebody can explain it more.

Regards,
Yasser
