Dropping MACs without ACLs

Given the following condition, interface GigabitEthernet0/1 is physically
unplugged, is there any real difference in the two commands listed below?

<method1> mac-address-table static 0000.0c47.10ad vlan 1 drop

<method2> mac-address-table static 0000.0c47.10ad vlan 15 interface
GigabitEthernet0/1

My testing has shown that both commands drop mac 0000.0c47.10ad and I'm
guessing that there is no functional difference??? The GS archives seem to
prefer method2. Is there a reason ro prefer one method over the other?
