Might I ask a couple of questions, just for my own sense of such problems?

What drives the requirement for such a large number of VLANs? A
large campus? Are the VLANs divided by physical constraints (e.g.,
building/floor), or are they application/departmental?

Are you using VTP? Will it be an operational constraint that it has
trouble with extended range VLANs?
