SNMP & Rmon

Hi guys,
 
 
Just trying to verify my understanding of interaction between Rmon & SNMP.
 
Please tell me if the following statements are true.
 
1) For Rmon to be useful on a given rtr, snmp must also be configured on that same rtr b/c othewise, an snmp mgr couldn't access any of the data collected by Rmon.
 
2) For Rmon to be able to send snmp traps, snmp enable traps must be configured.
 
I've checked through all the Cisco documentation on this, but I couldn't find anything that explains how the two interact.
