Well... Since there aren't any clients, that makes life really difficult!
If you have a router on the other end, you can always put 'ip address dhcp'
on it and see what happens. Your best bet is to watch debugs on the router
that is running DHCP to see the request coming in and exactly what does or
does not happen with it.
But think like a PC would... What do you need in order to get someplace?
The Ip address is nice, but that only tells you who YOU are, not how to get
anyplace else...

I can easily imagine myself forgetting to config a default gateway if it's
not explicitly stated and then losing all the points for dhcp.
Regarding checking and verifying DHCP, I meant is there a way to see if that
a dhcp server is running on the router and how the router believes dhcp is
configured? I know I can do a show run to see what I typed in but beyond
that how I can tell if dhcp is mis-configured when there aren't any actual
dhcp clients. Without actual clients, the dhcp bindings db is empty and
there aren't any dhcp stats to see.
