I'd say that it's likely not possible to answer this question outright.
You need every hop to be enabled in order to pass multicast traffic,
however, whether it follows the unicast RPF or not is entirely dependent on
the rest of your lab scenario.
So, no matter which way you go with things, watch specifically what your lab
tells you to do, or not to do! If it's not mentioned, it's up to you to
decide...

Basic question regarding multicast enabling on interfaces (say pim sparse or
dense mode).
1- Let me take an example, i have a 3 paths from the source to destination

currently from source A to Destination B flow through path1 (RPF).
From the ccie practice lab point of view, should we enable multicast
and mode (pim)
on interfaces / routers in all paths or only path1 direction router
interfaces. ?
2-What is the general rule to enable multicast on the interfaces connected
to
source and destination (mostly ethernet int) ? Does both these
interfaces required
"ip pim sparse / dense" command.
