I would consider Multicast to be just like RSVP whereas every node in the
path needs to configured for the particular type of PIM that you are using.
If there is any doubt in your mind, you could always ask the proctor for
advice as to whether you should configure it on all paths between the
source(s) and destination(s). Of course, if you are explicitly told what to
do, then this is a moot point.

Subject: Multicast on all routers/interfaces or only on the current RPF path
Hi
Basic question regarding multicast enabling on interfaces (say pim sparse
or dense mode).
1- Let me take an example, i have a 3 paths from the source to destination
and
currently from source A to Destination B flow through path1 (RPF).
From the ccie practice lab point of view, should we enable multicast
and mode (pim)
on interfaces / routers in all paths or only path1 direction router
interfaces. ?
2-What is the general rule to enable multicast on the interfaces connected
to
source and destination (mostly ethernet int) ? Does both these
interfaces required
"ip pim sparse / dense" command.

Shibu
