Yes all my exipred CCNA,CCNA,CCNP,CCDP certs got renewed. I passed CCIE lab on Jan 16, 2004 and when I looked at the certification tracker all my old certs now expire Jan 16, 2006. :)

Be Careful!

Passing the CCNP/DP recertification test will only recertify you if your
certification has NOT already expired. I found this out the hard way
several years ago when I took the CCNP and CCDP recertification tests
(now merged into a single test) after both had expired. I asked Cisco
why the web did not show the renewal dates and they informed me that
since I had taken (and paid for) the recertification tests AFTER they
had expired those tests did not count. I had to take all the tests to
get recertified (important at the time because I was working for a Cisco
reseller).

What made me angry was that the system has no mechanism to warn the test
taker that they are wasting their money. There should be something in
place to warn you that the cert must be active (at least a note you
would be forced to read when you sign up with Vue or Prometric).

I recognize that one's CCNA/DA/NP/DP are automatically renewed to the
pass date of the CCIE R&S exam once you pass the lab. But I wonder if
that would be the case if those certs had already expired at the time
you passed the lab.
