If I have already configured the pool by specifying the starting and ending
IP address, why should I bother to include the prefix-length ?

It uses the mask to double check your pool values.
You can supply it either in mask or slash notation.

Hi group,
There's a prefix-length parameter in the ip nat pool command. What's
exactly the use of it as the pool already specifies the starting and
ending
IP address ?
e.g.
ip nat pool net-208 171.69.233.208 171.69.233.223 prefix-length 28
rgds,
alec
