Hi had a question for you guys:
There is Site A and Site B which are two different campuses.
Site A has a Passport 8600 switch as does Site B.
Site A has Vlans 1, 6, 32, 92, 94
Site B has Vlans 1, 32, 100, 101, 2048
The Vlan 1 is not tagged across because the Vlan 1 on site A has 10.92.0.0
subnet and the Vlan 1 on site B has the 10.1.0.0 subnet
Also Vlan 92 from site A is not tagged as Site B is a core switch, we tend
to distribute the vlans out but not accept any VLAN's from the other
campuses.
There is a need to extend the Vlan 92 to the Site B. I was thinking of
doing the following
Site A (GBIC) -----------------> Cisco 3550 --------> Site B
Where Site B would house the 3550 as well. Question is is there a way on
cisco 3550 to allow certain ports to be assigned to multiple VLAN's?
An example is on the 3550
Port 1 and Port 2 Need to have the 92 Vlan
But the Two GBIC slots need to pass 802.1Q to each other. Can this be done?
