Hi everyone,
I was just wondering what people are using to physically label cisco
devices when doing a large rollout. Real estate on the front on the
front of a 3550-48 is practically non-existant (no place to put a
label), so I've been using a P-Touch and putting labels on the top of
the chassis, but as close to the front as possible (and off to the right
side).
The biggest problem is that the P-Touch labels aren't sticking to the
chassis! If they stick, its not for long... within 2 weeks, the label
is peeling up and looks terrible for anyone looking at it, especially
the customer.
Of course, the label cannot be permanent either, as devices have to be
added and removed as necessary (fairly often).
I even thought of hanging sort of a luggage-tag type label with possibly
a zip-tie through one of the grates in the chassis... however, some of
the chassis' don't have grates and I don't want to affect the fan
operation or intended air flow.
Any tried-and-true suggestions for labeling these devices?
