Whether or not disabling synchronization is allowed in
the lab exam will probably depend on the specific lab
exam you take. There is nothing that says
synchronization is or is not allowed in the lab.

Without disabling synchronization, you could also
redistribute the loopback into OSPF on R1, and then on
router R3 redistribute from ospf back into BGP.
