RE: DLSW & Dial Backup

I would use dlsw netbios-keepalive-filter (this would be true DLSW ddr) I suppose the final step would by to place
The dynamic keyword on the end of the neighbor statement. It automatically sets the keepalive to 0 and times out the TCP
Session after 90 seconds of no activity. It is really killa sweeeet.. Hee hee hee In addition, by specifying the dynamic keyword, the connection will still show Up, when you perform a show dlsw peers, but will only send packets to bring the link up when there is a canureach or name, or whatever explorer
to go over the link. Don't forget to add 2065 (read) and 2067(write) to your access-list . I would do it like this:

Dialer-list 1 protocol list 100
Access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq 2065
Access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq 2067
Access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq 1981
Access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq 1982
Access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq 1983
Access-list 100 deny ip any any

(I added the med, normal and low ports, in case you decide to add the priority keyword for QOS to the
End of your network statement)

I'd like to know everyone else's thoughts on this as well, I may have forgotten something...

Subject: DLSW & Dial Backup

Hi Folks.

Imagine you have a router in a site that normally goes to backbone through Frame Relay, but you also have a DDR isdn link to access if the frame service is out of service. Your local router is doing dlsw tcp based with a remote router too.

If they ask to configure the dial backup solution to avoid that DLSW traffic "goes up" the isdn link, what do you think is the best solution, and why:

1-A dialer-group list denying dlsw as interesting traffic
2- To use the option KEEPALIVE 0 in "dlsw remote-peer" command

Thank you very much for your help.
