I'd look at the information in your blue screen... Not because it's a
fun thing to do, but because you may have something else going on. I've
been running ethereal on my XP pro laptop for about a year with the LAN
and wireless cards, and have never blue screened for it. I've got other
apps that will blue screen very nicely, but not ethereal.
Perhaps you have an older version of WinPCap or something lower down?

Subject: Re: network analyzer for windows xp professional
Marco,
Ive been using etherreal throughout my studies, I tried 2 versions
during my studies, over last year and a half, which last trial with a
couple of month ago, it blue screened my windows xp professional
operating sytem, I have installed many applications, but I am only going
to go with something reliable, because I only have one computer. And all
of my important information is on here. I fortunatley was able to do a
restore from the operating system, to a point in time before I installed
etherreal. Network Associates, ive been told is very solid, and many
corporations use this software, I just downloaded the eval version to
try it out, before I spend my money. The person who suggested network
associates to me is a CCIE and a reliable source. And that is what he
used for his studies. Again, thanks for all the feedback, it really
helped me in my decision. I dont want to start a thread on this so
please, refrain from responding, I have made my decision, if you would
like to email me directly then please do so, but please dont respond to
group. Sincerely, Matijevic
