PIM Sparse Mode Desginated Forwarder and Designated Router

Dear all,

Just want to confirmed is it possible that the Designated Forwarder
(elected by asset message) and Designated Router (elected by hello message)
of a subnet be the different routers?

In sparse mode, only DR will join the source tree and undergo the
switchover to the SPT. Does it mean that multicast will only flow to the DR
and flood to the subnet? If the DR is not the Designated Forwarder (which
has the best route to the source in teams of AD/metric), the multicast will
flow in a suboptimal path. Any thoughts?

Best Regards,
William Chen
