Hi Kasturi,
can you include a show ip ospf data external. Also check the output of the options field to see what it says. It should say "type 7/5 translation" or something to that extent. Also, can you include a show ip ospf data on R8 and R4 and the interface configs on both router. Is R8 running any other protocol? I found this on cisco. It may be related to your issue or it may not. Let us know. Thx
Bit P - This bit is used to tell the NSSA ABR whether to translate type 7 into type 5.
No Type 7/5 translation means bit P = 0.
Type 7/5 translation means bit P = 1.
If bit P = 0, then the NSSA ABR must not translate this LSA into Type 5. This happens when NSSA ASBR is also an NSSA ABR.
If bit P = 1, then the NSSA ABR (if there are multiple NSSA ABRs, the one with highest router ID) must translate this type 7 LSA into a type 5 LSA.
