RE: Supporting GroupStudy

Hi Paul,
Hi Brian,

Paul you did a really fantastic job by creating this list. Overtime it
turned to be one of the most useful educational lists that one can use. This
However didn't happen by itself, instead it happened by the generous
contribution of the technical gurus interms of supporting the Groupstudy.

In my humple openion, technical contribution means much more to us than
financial contribution because it is directly reflected on our needs as end
users. Honestly speaking, without the technical contribution for Brian
Dennis and Brian McGahan the value of the list was going to be degraded
severly. I for myself, and I believe many others, when I want to lookup for
an answer that I can't find I goahead and search the groupstudy archives for
both Brian Dennis and McGahan postings, as I find these postings almost
always to the point and gives a clear explanation.

Think about the list without having such Gurus like both Brians here,
honestly speaking things will be much different. I don't say that they don't
get advantage of showing up here as Groupstudy is the best place to
advertise their products, where each lab vendor trying to showup to say hi
guys I am here and if you go with me I can offer so and so.

If GroupStudy needs support, then we as end users, should contribute too.
If you thought how many users are using this list and you changed the
membership in it to be a paid one ( For ex. $10 a year ). This should
support the financial needs of the group with no problem and makes everyone
happy.

Finally, honestly speaking, one of the main advantages after creating
this list was that lab vendors kept competing on offering better labs, more
detailed explanations, and ultimately more benefit for the list users.
Without mentioning vendor names, some of their labs solutions are full of
errors and even some misleading ones and end users start complaining about
their quality. To me I don't see excpet NETMASTERS and Internetwork Expert
as people who really created lab scenarios that worth paying money for.
Without the existence of these commercial workbooks and classes CCIE numbers
were going to reduce heavily.

If you reached that part of my mail I thank you for your time.

Regards,
Yasser
