How would redistributing OSPF into RIP cause a problem? Did you mean
redistributing RIP into OSPF? Also can you explain exactly why the /32s
where causing the ISDN line to bounce?

If the hub (r1) and spokes (r2,and r3) are on ospf network, and hub is also
connected through ISDN to another router (r4) running rip. Now, let say I
want to redistribute ospf routes to rip domain, making my hub router ASBR.
r4 would obviously receive the ospf (loopback routes) as /32. Because of the
/32 routes the ISDN link would keep coming up.

I'm obviously not familiar with the lab product you are referring to ;-) So
what is the exact problem that was created with the /32s?

Brian,

What are the possible reachability issues here.
Can you give an example. how without the /32 it would not function
correctly. I always, when shown an example understand much clearer, as I
assume most people do.

Kind regards.
Paul.
