It almost ranks up there with "Eat well, stay fit, die anyway" :)

All,
I am shocked to learn this. I thought that after I passed the lab I
would know everything. Now that I have learned this gloomy fact I am
quitting, giving up in despair.

Happens to everyone! The more you know, the more you will find that you
don't know! Kind of an evil, viscious circle like that! (grin)

Thanks for your reply. No matter how many CCIE I got, from time to time
I'll still have some simple questions. There are too many little things.
:) I've been to the web page before I posted my question, but I just
want someone to confirm my curiosity.

That's correct. No IS-IS on the Catalyst 3550. The SMI image can only do
RIP.

Gee, I thought that the role of a triple-CCIE on Groupstudy was to
*answer* questions, not ask them. ;-)[Hehe]

Just curious, I don't see IS-IS can be run on Catalyst 3550-12T with EMI
image. I can do BGP, OSPF but not IS-IS. Is this same for other 3550?
Why Cisco specificially disable IS-IS? Just wondering.
