RE: Default-route generation??

Hi,

Karim might have been been right about what he noticed happenning about RIP auto distribution of default routes just as well as Doyle is right.

The Doyle v1 is a bit old and there have since been enhancements or changes to some behaviours. In some cases from 12.0T and newer IOS versions the behaviour can and should be as Karim described. Though it seems like the behaviour may not be exactly consistent. Which is why I reckon we are seeing the differences. See link below.

Thanks Wayne,

I beleive when using default-network or default route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 with
ospf running on the router, this will need default-information originate
under the ospf process to advertise the default to the ospf neighbors.

Regards,
Karim.
