Thanks for your reply mate!

Based on the advise I have received from everyone, it seems that the only way
to get good at it, is like everything, practising it.

Someone even mentioned to me that as part of their lab preparation, after they
finished practising each lab, he would practice going to the area in the DocCD
where the lab related information was located.
This way during and specially at the end of the real lab exam, when a task was
presented he was able to use the DocCD to verify that his configurations were
correct, and most importantly, he became really fast at it because it became
like another "configuration step" to remember.
