Agree that you need the static definition of the neighbor for the rip
updates to work using unicast instead of multicast. But still can't get why
do we need the directly connected interfaces to be passive ones (and won't
the setup work without this step??).
Also still need help form the group for the other question:
While having RIP or EIGRP configured on a NBMA (F.R.) hub and spoke
topology, with the hub using main interface, neighbor command will be needed
on both hub and spoke sides. Is it a must to configure passive interface for
the interfaces joining the frame-relay network?
