Do you need to be setting rip to version 2 under the routing protocol or do you need to be sending receiving version 1 2 on the actual interface? The question was "The requirement says to enable RIPv2 on one of the interfaces, but do not enable it on any other interface." Is it saying do not enable rip on other interfaces (passive-interface) or is it saying do not enable version 2 on other interfaces.
Also remember RipV2 isn't backwards compatible. so RipV1 receives both, but RipV2 only receives Version 2.
Make sure you do a "show ip protocol rip" and before and after changing the passive interface default and the cmd version 2, then you may need to check the actual interface to see what it's sending/receiving. Debuging will tell what is happening with the adjacencies whether they are forming or not and what version is actually being sent or received.
If you still use use passive interface default and choose everything except your designated version 2 interface, how will they make adjacencies, What does Rip send to form adjacnecies by default? You should be able to use the network statement to send the unicast message and still form adjacencies if required.

Use the passive interface command

Passive interface default
No passive interface ? - the interface that you want to have rip
running on

Subject: enabling RIP on 1 interface only
I have several interfaces on different subnets of a class B network.
The requirement says to enable RIPv2 on one of the interfaces, but do
not enable it on any other interface. How can I accomplish this?
