Thx for that, but I am not generating the packets from the route with
policy routig on, i am send a ping from a router 1 hop away?

that should be ok should'nt it?

Applyling route map to interfaces does not influence on traffic,
generated by router (as example - ping packets).
In order to take into account traffic, generated by router itself
use:

ip local policy route-map <route-map name>

in global configuration mode.

i am sooo confused about this. Also tried using CAR and this did not
work, so there must be somthing I am doing wrong?

I am doing a very basic thing here, by setting the IP PREC on a policy
route-map to critical for ANY ip traffic But if you look in the capture
below using ethereal, the IP PREC does not get set in and of the ICMP
packets? BIZARRE?

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME?

I perform a ping from Tesrtr1 to testrtr3 as follows :-
