I took & passed the R/S lab on Wednesday in San Jose'.
It was my first attempt.
The lab is a "beast" I have been meaning to tackle for several years but
the usual obligations of a full time job & family + teaching part time @
N.I.U. kept me from getting there until now.
I paid for the whole thing out of my own pocket & have never had a Cisco
class. (I did have some Nortel training in 1999 & completed the Nortel
Network Certified Support Expert)
When I passed the CCNA 37 months ago the CCIE seems like an impossible
dream!
I would highly recommend Doyle, Caslow, & Parkhurst (both the BGP & OSPF
config guides) as well as buying used equipment & practicing @ home.
Some of the stupid's I used to work with made fun of me because I bought my
own hardware on ebay.
I have not heard of any of them passing the lab - in fact, some of them are
now selling real estate.
